The Organizing Committee of the Kiev International Advertising Festival has finished counting applications for participation in the contest. 1289 works will compete in 14 contests for awards of 11th Festival. They were registered by 299 entrants from 12 countries in Europe and Asia.
Traditionally, the greatest number of entries is from Ukraine and Russia. We also admit big activity of colleagues from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. A number of agencies from Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Slovenia and the Netherlands will also compete for the KIAF awards.
In general, if we compare the statistics of the last year, the number of participants in 2010 decreased by 21,5%, the number of works - by 12%. Sure enough, the decisive role in this decrease belongs to economic crisis, because many customers really economized on the creativity last year and the advertising industry survived as best as it could. Although it is possible that and demands of agencies to the quality of their own creativity has also increased.
In any case, it is still very early to assess the level of the upcoming competition in the 11-th KIAF, because not everything is determined by the number of entries, the quality is always much more valuable. And the fact that all leaders of the advertising industry of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan etc. are participating in this international advertising contest gives us hope for the highly competitiveness, that will determine the value of the awards.
